Food Blenders
One of the most common kitchen appliances either at home or in commercial establishments, the blender (or liquidizer as referred to by the English), is used primarily for mixing ingredients or for making food purees, particularly fruits and vegetables. The food blender distinguishes itself from an electric or manual powered food mixer, albeit similar in its purpose, in that it is utilizes an upright and stationary design.
Food blenders usually have two main components: the base unit where the motor is usually housed, and where the speed settings are accessed, and the food container that most often would resemble the common household pitcher. The container are made from hard, temperature resistant materials such as high grade plastic, stainless steel, or the popular tempered glass kind. There are also noticeable markings on the container sides used for measuring the volumes of ingredients. The most common units are in cups or liters.
