Black & Decker Corporation markets under different brands such as DeWalt, Weiser, Kweikset, Delta Machinery, and others. S. Duncan Black and Alonzo G. Decker founded the corporation in 1910. Initially, the Black & Decker Corporation was established as a machine shop. In 1917, the Black & Decker Corporation was able to develop and acquire the patent for the now familiar hand held power drill.
After developing and manufacturing many industrial types of equipment and upon finding out that factory workers would often “borrow” equipments from work to bring to their respective homes, the Duncan and Alonzo had the idea to develop power tools specifically for home improvement use. Then after the success of their home improvement and do-it-yourself line of products, home appliances were developed, further marking their stamp on the home improvement market.
Nowadays, Black & Decker manufacture popular home and kitchen products such as the Cyclone 12 speed blender.
